Instituted in Harrah, Oklahoma at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church on Oct. 28, 1951. Today the court has over 50 members.

Court Christ the King #1586
Meets the first Sunday of each month, 7pm, Parish Hall

Charity

Portions of the CDA local dues are forwarded from the local courts to assist in the national and international projects. The members of the Harrah court also lend support to national programs that work for the youth and the Catholic bishops and against abortion and pornography.

On the local level, the court organizes an annual yard sale, which is held the last weekend in April, with all proceeds going directly to Birth Choice of Oklahoma. Birth Choice helps women faced with an unplanned pregnancy choose life for their unborn babies. The Court also adopts a family through Catholic Charities each Christmas to provide presents for that family

Community

CDA members are involved in numerous areas of community service. The court maintains a food closet and prepares food baskets with the help of the Knights and St. Vincent de Paul Society each Thanksgiving for area families in need. They sponsor an annual essay & poetry contest for area children. CDA members sponsor a team in the annual Harrah Relay for Life and are a steady participant in the annual Harrah Day Parade and activities.

Service

The CDA are involved in numerous activities that are designed around service to the parish. They sponsor weekly coffee and donuts after the 10 am Mass. They host an annual breakfast for the graduating seniors and reception for the First Communion class. The court organizes the annual Christmas party for the Religious Education as well as an end of the year picnic. The court provides refreshments after wake services and are the helping hands for many parish special events.

Fellowship

Our local court has recently introduced "Women of Grace" an eight week study series for women with an emphasis on strengthening your faith and deepening your relationship with God. There are currently two sessions that meet Sundays 3pm-5pm and Tuesday 10am-12am both meetings are held in the parish hall.

The CDA regular meeting is held at 7pm on the first Sunday of each month in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus monthly meeting. Childcare is provided.

Faith

In all their works, the CDA members are united by their faith. The power of prayer is the most important tool the CDA has in carrying out its work. Praying the Rosary, for the deceased members, for our priests and religious vocations and for an end to abortion are the central to the purpose of the CDA
